Adoption has already brought so many people alongside us, and we honestly don’t take any of it for granted. Whether you pray for us, check in on us, share our story, cheer us on from afar, or feel led to help financially, it all means more to us than we could probably ever put into words.
There’s absolutely no expectation to give. We’re just incredibly grateful to have people who love us, are excited for this next chapter, and want to be part of it in whatever way feels right to them.
We have no idea exactly what the road ahead will look like (which, if you know Melinda, is really testing her love of having a plan ), but we feel incredibly lucky to have so many people walking it with us.

The Adoption Process

Before starting this process, we knew adoption was a big financial commitment, but we honestly had no idea just how much went into making an adoption happen. There are so many people working behind the scenes to make sure everything is handled legally, ethically, and with care especially for the expectant mother and baby.
Throughout the process, there are agency and application fees, our home study and background checks, legal services, counseling and support for expectant mothers, possible medical and pregnancy-related expenses, travel, post-placement visits, court costs, and plenty of other little things we’re sure we’ll learn about along the way.
It’s a lot, but every part of the process serves a purpose. More than anything, we want to walk through adoption in a way that protects and supports everyone involved and ultimately gives our future child the best possible beginning.
